Wool

Wool is designed to naturally resist odors and stains, providing durability and asnd ease of care to your Monte & Coe. To ensure your wool everyday essentials remains in pristine condition, follow these simple care instructions:

For Light Cleaning:
Gently dab the wool with a soft, damp cloth to remove minor stains and refresh the fabric. Always use cold or lukewarm water to avoid shrinkage and damage to the wool fibers.

For Persistent Stains:
Prepare a solution by diluting a small amount of gentle dish soap in a bowl of cold water.

Dip a soft cloth into the solution, wring out excess liquid, and gently dab the stained area. Avoid rubbing as this can cause the wool to pill.

Rinse the cloth with clean water, wring, and dab the area to remove any soap residue.

When not in use, store your weekender bag in a cool, dry place. Use a Monte & Coe dust bag to protect it from dust and moisture.

Additional Tips:

Avoid overloading your wool bag to maintain its shape and integrity.
If you encounter an oil-based stain, it is advisable to seek professional cleaning services specialized in wool products to ensure optimal care.

By following these care instructions, your wool weekender bag will continue to look sophisticated and perform beautifully on all your journeys. Enjoy your travels with the confidence that your bag is cared for with the utmost attention to detail.

Vegetable Tanned Leather

The vegetable-tanned leather used in our products is celebrated for its quality and the beautiful patina it develops with time. This leather matures and changes, gaining character from the natural elements it encounters and from contact with your skin. Such transformations may include darkening of the leather and the appearance of marks, all of which contribute to the unique character of each item.

To maintain the elegant appearance and integrity of your leather goods, please follow these care instructions:

Regular Cleaning:
Use a soft-bristled brush or a suede brush to gently remove surface dirt and debris. Brushing regularly helps maintain the leather’s natural luster without the use of harsh chemicals.

Handling Spills:
In case of spills, quickly blot the liquid with a clean, dry, and absorbent cloth. Press firmly to absorb as much liquid as possible without rubbing, as this can push the spill deeper into the leather.

For Non-Water Stains:
Gently pat the stained area with a cloth slightly dampened with clean water. Avoid using too much water, as vegetable-tanned leather can absorb liquids quickly, which may cause further staining.

Drying:
After cleaning, let the leather air dry naturally. Avoid direct heat or sunlight, as this can lead to drying out and cracking of the leather.

Conditioning:
Periodically apply a leather conditioner to keep the leather supple and prevent drying and cracking. Use a conditioner that is suitable for vegetable-tanned leather to ensure compatibility.

Storage:
Store your leather products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. If storing for long periods, keep them in a Monte & Coe dust bag to prevent any accumulation of dirt and to provide protection from scratches.

Avoid Harsh Chemicals:
Never use harsh cleaners or solvents that can strip the leather of its natural oils and damage its finish. Always opt for products specifically designed for vegetable-tanned leather.

By following these care instructions, your vegetable-tanned leather products will age gracefully, developing a richer patina and becoming truly unique to you. Enjoy the natural evolution of your leather goods as they accompany you through your life’s journeys.
